Entangled: Immersive Projection Mapping Installation

  • February 26, 2018February 27, 2018

Experience Entangled; the immersive experience by OBLSK Interactive. Explore haunting and beautiful environments as you adventure through the tableau. Through motion graphics, projection mapping, and Lenticular technology used in the sculptural design, Entangled will enthrall audiences with a fantastic dreamscape of optical illusion, storytelling, and unforgettable imagery.

This project consists of a sculptural installation designed to create an immersive environment in which simple three dimensional shapes (square columns) are used

as a projection surface. The piece becomes a location for viewers to have virtual experiences. The possible environments are endless. They could be, for example, a dark enchanted forest, an alien landscape, or a more playful haunted house.

The structured consists of sixteen 18″ by 18” square large columns that are 10′ tall.  The participant can explore the installation by walking through and in between the columns. Each column has projection mapped video on all four sides so what the participant sees and experience is changed based on their position and the direction they face.

  • January 10, 2017February 27, 2018

OBLSK has been busy over the last months creating media for national and international companies.  We are movin’ and groovin’ makin’ art for the masses.

We just recently worked with HMS Host in the state of Delaware, working on a series of time lapse training videos.  We were lucky enough to work with Davinia Roberts and Paul Cook with ZenGenius.

Stratosphere: Light and Shadow: March 19th

  • March 7, 2016February 27, 2018

Stratosphere:

A Multimedia Exhibition Exploring the Projection of Light and Shadow

StratosphereCardFrontThrough projection installation, performance and sculpture, the artists of OBLSK investigate the ways in which art and visual merchandising overlap. OBLSK is a collective of media artists Pelham Johnston, Brandon Reichard and eve Warnock who are working with local Columbus visual and events merchandising company ZenGenius for this special installation.

Stratosphere is an exhibition exploring light and the ways that light can manipulate architecture, object, and perspective. Through projection, shadowplay, performance, and sculpture, OBLSK has created an event that is exciting, innovative, entertaining, and beautifully dark.

Fox written and produced by eve Warnock and Pelham Johnston is a 3d projection mapping onto three mannequins that tells the story of vanity and greed through the interaction of a beautiful woman/fox, a narrator/badger, and a business man/lion.  The powerful imagery and magnetic storytelling are innovative and immersive engaging the audience in a visual dreamscape that unravels in mysterious ways.

RAGNO is a shadow play directed by Brandon Reichard that looks at a dysfunctional relationship between a husband and wife and the husband’s efforts to upgrade his wife. Through beautiful shadow puppetry, humor, and unexpected twists RAGNO keeps the audience enthralled and delighted.

Vessels: bio-data: interactive sculpture

  • June 2, 2015February 27, 2018

Vessels created by Pelham Johnston and eve Warnock is an interactive sculpture that uses the participants heart rate and transposes it into a sequence of air and water which plays onto a steel drum.  Vessels was commissioned by the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco for the Transflux Exhibition, a three month exhibition  In the Room for Big Ideas gallery with Artist  Gene Felice, Nate Ober, and Kate Spacek. Curated by Katya Min. To read more about the Transflux exhibition please visit the  SF ART News review by Michal Gavish.

Vessels was just recently presented at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco for the NightLife LIVE electronic music series, representing OpenLab, where we  transformed the heart rate into a continuous stream of data that glowed from ultraviolet light.

As artist we are interested creating an interface using technology where the viewers feel connected with their body through their interactions.

HERD: Ways/ walls+windows Prototype

  • September 26, 2014July 3, 2015

LAX_Mah_press

HERD: Ways/ walls + windows is an interactive experience rooted in the physical and psychological qualities of herding behaviors – in both animals and humans. Audiences will be captivated by the aesthetically beautiful set and movements, and compelled by questions of control, isolation, collective thought and behavior, and the powers of personal space within the group. Ways/ walls + windows instigates a primary experience of herding and being herded. This risky, edgy, and hilarious take on art + science evokes equal parts thoughtful curiosity and wide-eyed surprise. Expect to be moved.
